Come On Up The Mountain...


Autumn is a beautiful time of the year to visit High Point State Park



Please join the Friends of High Point State Park on the mountain 
this autumn for one of our many wonderful programs!

Yoga on the Mountain Series
Come enjoy the view while relaxing your mind and body.  All levels of experience are welcome. Please bring your own yoga mat. Walk-ins are welcome. However, registration is suggested so that we may contact you in the event a class is cancelled. To register, please call 973-702-0488. A minimum donation of $5.00 per class is recommended. Yoga on the Mountain is sponsored by the Friends of High Point State Park. All proceeds go to support Yoga on the Mountain and other Friends of High Point State Park programs.

Meditation on the Mountain Series
Join us on the mountain as we unwind with an hour of meditation and reflection. Various styles of meditation will be practiced. The group will be led through a few styles of contemplation and then given an opportunity to meditate individually. Participants may want to bring a yoga mat or small pillow to sit on and a reusable bottle of water. The program is for adults and mature teens, ages 14 and older. The program is free, although a $2 donation per participant is appreciated.

Come start your weekend with positive intentions and mindfulness by a warm fire. We will practice various forms of meditation including guided breathing and guided visualization. Leave feeling relaxed, yet revitalized and refreshed!

Project 22  - REGISTRATION REQUIRED
Join us on the mountain as we share this poignant film and its message of hope. Project 22 follows two combat veterans on a 22 day, 6,500 mile, cross-country motorcycle mission to raise awareness of the high rate of suicide amongst veterans and to spread their message of hope. An estimated 22 veterans take their own lives every single day. The High Point State Park Monument was built to honor all New Jersey veterans. To learn more about Project 22 please visit,

Fall Into Autumn Bicycle Tour

Come enjoy the beauty of autumn at High Point State Park!
Bring your own bicycle for a lovely ride to view emerging fall foliage. Our route will take us on an 8-mile loop along Sawmill and Park Ridge roads. We will make a few shorts stops along the way to view points of interest and to enjoy a picnic lunch. The bike ride is suitable for ages 14 – adult. Helmets are required. Please bring your own bicycle, helmet, bag lunch, and water. Meet at the winter-use parking lot on Park Ridge Road.

Open Hearth Cooking
Join the Friends of High Point State Park for a demonstration of open hearth cooking on the Interpretive Center fireplace. Autumn is the season of bountiful harvests and the air will be filled with the aromas of pumpkin and apple. Enjoy a sample tasting of delectable soups, meats, and desserts all cooked fireside.
