Happy Autumn!

It is a beautiful time to visit High Point State Park.  Summer crowds are gone.  The beach belongs to the ducks.  Blue skies host kettles of migrating birds dancing circles above the Kittatinny Ridge.  Sun dapples chase reflections of colorful trees along the lakes, Marcia, Steenykill, and Sawmill.  The views from the Monument will enchant you with the spirit of autumn.

Let the peaceful grace of nature refresh and renew you.  Our Yoga on the Mountain series continues on Friday, October 14, 5:30 – 6:45 pm, and concludes on Saturday, November 19, 9:30 – 10:45 am.  All levels of experience are welcome to attend.  Please see our Yoga on the Mountain page for more details and registration information.

Come tour Park Ridge Road as the Friends take a Bike Hike Saturday, October 15 and Sunday, October 16 (weather permitting).  The route will cover five to ten miles and ranges in difficulty from easy to moderately difficult.  Registration begins at 9:30 am in the Winter Trail Use parking lot.  The bike hike will begin at 10 am.  Please bring your own bike, helmet, water, and snack.  Contact the event coordinator, Michael at 973-347-4722, for more information and to pre-register.

Join the Friends of High Point as we celebrate the harvest season with Open Hearth Cooking on Saturday, October 29, 11 am – 3 pm.  Our dedicated group of volunteers will prepare a delectable array of dishes on the Interpretive Center’s open hearth. Sample tastings will be offered to visitors.  Seasonal crafts for children will be available from 1:30 – 2:30 pm.

See You on the Mountain!
